Terms of use.
Short version: be a real student, play fair, don't harass anyone, and we'll keep rivalu running.
Who can use rivalu
You need a working academic email — a .edu address, or an international academic equivalent like .ac.uk— from an accredited university's domain, and to be a member of that campus community. One verified inbox = one scoring account. Using more than one account (including “+tag” aliases of the same inbox), sharing logins, or automating gameplay gets the account banned and the school's points adjusted.
Fair play
Every score is validated server-side against the game's ceiling, Trivia is graded on our servers, and one verified academic email is one account. Reported matches are reviewed by a person. False reporting of matches or attempting to manipulate your school's ranking results in account suspension and removal of disputed points.
For the full scoring rules, see How scoring works.
Behavior
rivalu is rivalry, not harassment. Don't target other players, students, or schools with slurs, threats, doxxing, or coordinated harassment. We remove accounts that do — no warnings on the egregious cases.
Your content
You keep ownership of anything you submit (e.g. screenshots in match reports). By submitting, you grant rivalu a non-exclusive license to display it for the purpose of the leaderboard and dispute resolution.
Account closure
You can delete your account any time — see Privacy. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. If you graduate or leave your school, your account remains tied to your .edu email; if that email gets revoked, the account becomes read-only.
No warranty
rivalu is provided “as is” while we're building it. We aim for uptime, accurate scoring, and timely support, but we don't guarantee any of those legally. Bugs happen. If you find one, email hello@rivalu.app.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we'll email signed-in users at their .edu address. If you don't agree to a change, delete your account.
